Hey, Room 16 here!
We've just started another term and for the year 8's this year it'll be their last term at Arrowtown School.
This term for sport we are continuing to prepare for athletics day. We train on Tuesdays so don't forget your gear! Some of the sports include high jump, long jump, sprints, hurdles, distance and so forth. We are also about to start school swimming in our class. We begin on November 22nd (week 7).
We also send off the Year 8's to their camp this term! They have been fundraising and looking forward to their trip to Doubtful Sound. Some of the new things they may get to enjoy on camp include crayfishing and helicopter rides. They leave on December 6th and return on the 10th.
We have just started a new thing called Words Alive. What we do is write a short piece of creative writing that is as descriptive as we can make it. The aim is to make it so that the reader can clearly see what your describing - painting a picture.
Every year the senior school start a new money system in term 4 called Rewards Day. When we do things that would usually earn us credits through the year we now earn Arrowtown School paper money. We save it up through the term and at the end of the year we can exchange it to do a fun activity. Some activities like bungy jumping or jet boat rides cost more than other things like movies with friends or going swimming.
Thats just the start of everything this term.
Bye for now! Josie & Danielle
